Starting Again Doesn’t Mean Starting Over
Sometimes the comeback looks different — and that’s exactly the point.
There’s something about September that has always felt like a fresh start.
Maybe it’s years of associating September with back-to-school. Maybe it’s the change in the air. Or maybe it’s simply that after summer, we’re ready to get back into a routine.
For me, this September feels a little different.
Because I’m not just getting back into a routine.
I’m finding my way back to something I love.
Over the last month, I’ve been slowly showing up again. I brought back the blog. I started writing my Let’s Light It Up newsletter again. I’ve been talking about health, energy, red light therapy, aging, confidence — and, of course, life.
But there’s been one piece still waiting in the wings.
🎙️ The podcast.
And this week, it’s coming back.
Life Has Changed — So Have I
When I first started podcasting, I wanted a place for real conversations.
Not perfect conversations.
Not polished, everything-is-wonderful conversations.
Real ones.
And after everything life has brought over the last couple of years, those conversations mean even more to me now.
There have been moments of incredible joy and some incredibly difficult ones. There have been changes I never expected, lessons I certainly didn't ask for, and times when I simply needed to stop.
And somewhere in all of that, I changed too.
So when I thought about bringing the podcast back, I realized I didn't want to pretend I was picking up exactly where I left off.
I'm not.
I'm starting from where I am now.
There Is Power in Beginning Again
We sometimes think starting again means something went wrong.
I don't believe that anymore.
Sometimes taking a break is exactly what allows us to figure out what matters.
Starting again can mean coming back with more clarity.
More perspective.
More purpose.
And maybe a little less concern about doing everything perfectly. 😉
At 60, I'm certainly not interested in pretending I've figured everything out.
I'm much more interested in talking about what we're learning along the way.
And Yes… We’re Going to Talk About Red Light 🔴
If you've followed me for any length of time, you knew this was coming.
Red light therapy has become a huge part of both my personal story and my professional life through CELLebrate Light.
So this new chapter will absolutely include conversations about red light therapy and photobiomodulation — what it is, why I'm so passionate about it, and where it fits into conversations about recovery, energy, wellness and healthy aging.
But we're going beyond red light too.
We'll talk about getting older without disappearing.
Confidence.
Health.
Grief.
Reinvention.
Relationships.
Caregiving.
Starting over.
And probably a few things we're technically not supposed to talk about. 😂
Because those are usually the best conversations.
So Here We Go…
August was my soft return.
September is different.
September, I'm turning the microphone back on. 🎙️
I'm excited.
I'm a little nervous.
And that's probably a pretty good sign that I'm doing something that matters to me.
So here's my question for you:
Have you ever had to start again — and discovered that the second version of you was actually stronger than the first?
I'd love to hear your story.
And stay tuned…
🎙️ The podcast is back this week.
There are some conversations I can't wait to have.
Let’s Light It Up. ❤️✨
