When Life Asks You to Pause

We talk a lot about pushing through.
Staying consistent.
Keeping momentum.
But we don’t talk enough about the seasons where life asks us to stop.
Not because we’re failing.
But because we’re carrying more than we expected.
The past while has been one of those seasons for me.
Life shifted in ways I didn’t plan for.
Between caregiving, loss, and navigating emotions I wasn’t prepared for… my capacity changed.
And if I’m being honest, there were moments where just getting through the day felt like enough.
I’ve spent over 30 years in health and wellness.
I’ve taught people how to build strength, improve energy, and stay consistent.
But this season reminded me of something deeper:
Energy isn’t just physical.
It’s emotional.
It’s mental.
It’s human.
And when life gets heavy, your energy shifts — whether you want it to or not.
We often think strength looks like pushing harder.
Showing up no matter what.
Keeping everything together.
But I’ve been learning that real strength can look very different.
Sometimes strength is:
• Getting enough sleep
• Taking a step back
• Saying “this is a lot right now”
• Allowing yourself to feel what you’re feeling
And most importantly…
Protecting your energy instead of constantly pushing it.
Your body is always working for you.
Even in the hardest moments.
Repairing. Restoring. Regulating.
But it needs the right inputs.
Sleep.
Support.
Space.
Care.
These aren’t luxuries.
They’re essentials.
This season has reminded me that life doesn’t always move in straight lines.
There are pauses.
There are shifts.
There are moments that change you.
And sometimes those moments ask you to slow down… so you can come back differently.
There’s more to this story.
And I’m ready to share it.
🎙️ You Do You Unfiltered returns April 7.
This next episode is one of the most honest conversations I’ve ever had — about where I’ve been, what this season has taught me, and why I’m coming back.
If life has ever asked you to pause…
You’re not alone.
And maybe that pause isn’t the end of your momentum.
Maybe it’s where something new begins.
💛 I’d love to hear from you:
Have you ever gone through a season where life made you pause?
