Energy, Grief, and the Small Things That Actually Help

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about energy.
Not just the kind we talk about in wellness…
but the kind you feel when life shifts underneath you.
After losing my mom… and stepping into a new role supporting my dad…
I’ve felt what real depletion looks like.
Not just tired.
Deep, cellular-level exhaustion.
The kind where:
Sleep doesn’t fully restore you
Your body feels heavy
Your mind wants to keep going… but something underneath says “slow down”
And it’s made me reflect on something I’ve said for years in fitness and wellness:
We don’t lack willpower… we lack energy.
⚡ Where Energy Actually Comes From
Inside your body, energy isn’t a mindset.
It’s a biological process.
Your mitochondria—your cellular powerhouses—are responsible for producing it.
And when they’re supported, everything feels different:
You recover faster
You think clearer
You handle stress better
You feel more like yourself
When they’re not?
You feel it everywhere.
💡 So Where Does Red Light Therapy Fit In?
This is where it gets interesting.
Red and near-infrared light work directly with your cells—specifically your mitochondria—to help them produce more energy (ATP).
Not artificially.
Not forcefully.
Supportively.
And what I’ve come to appreciate—especially recently—is this:
Sometimes the most powerful support doesn’t feel dramatic.
It feels subtle… steady… and deeply restorative.
❤️ This Isn’t About “Fixing” Yourself
I think for a long time, we’ve been taught to chase big solutions.
Big changes.
Big interventions.
Big overhauls.
But what I’m learning—personally and professionally—is this:
Healing often happens in the small, consistent things.
The things that:
Support your body quietly
Give your system what it needs
Help you rebuild… instead of push through
🔥 My Perspective (Right Now)
After 30+ years in fitness…
and walking through one of the most emotional seasons of my life…
I don’t look at wellness the same way anymore.
It’s not about doing more.
It’s about asking:
👉 What actually supports my body right now?
And sometimes…
something as simple as light… isn’t simple at all.
💬 Let’s Talk
What’s something small that’s made a big difference in your energy lately?
I’d love to hear what’s supporting you right now 🤍
